SWORDS and bayonets that were handed into police during a knife amnesty scheme have found a new home.

The historic blades were given into Rother Police, who have since handed over the articles to Bexhill Museum.

Bexhill Museum’s curator Julian Porter said the items had “historical significance”.

"I was really pleased these were passed on to us, they have such historical significance,” he said.

The Police Community Support Officer who handed over the swords to the museum, said: "Our history is too easily lost."
