A POPSTAR has cancelled her show in Brighton at the last minute due to illness.

Charli XCX was due to play an intimate show at Concorde 2 in the city this evening, but has suddenly pulled out.

The singer in a statement this morning that she has a “severe stomach bug or food poisoning” and a doctor has advised her to rest.

She said she hopes to reschedule the show at the 600-capacity venue for later this week.

“My team are working with the venue to see if we can reschedule for the next few days when I’m better,” she said.

“They will have an update for you by the end of the day and will advise on ticket validity and next steps.”

Concorde 2 apologised via its website and said it is “working hard alongside the artist team and Music Venue Trust to try and secure an alternative day for later this week.

“All customers will be contacted with further updates later today.”

It is not clear whether refunds will be offered to those unable to attend the new date.

Charli was playing exclusively in Brighton as part of the Revive Live Tour, organised by the Music Venues Trust and the National Lottery.

The tour features more than 200 shows played around the country to support smaller venues.
