Six people have been taken to hospital and many more have been injured after a packed double decker bus crashed.
Police believe the driver lost control of the vehicle along Station Road in Berwick near Lewes at around 10.30am today.
There were around 70 people on board the rail replacement service which was carrying passengers from Berwick to Lewes railway station.
Police said the bus, which belongs to the Brighton and Hove Bus Company, left the road and drove across a ditch before smashing through a fence and finally coming to a halt in a field.
Thankfully, it did not overturn.
Some passengers got off and made their way back to Berwick railway station and got on another bus before police had a chance to interview them.
Anyone who was a passenger on the bus or who saw the accident should call Sussex Police on 0845 6070999, quoting Operation Lazarus.
