You hear so many bad things about the NHS and the Royal Sussex County Hospital that I write to correct the balance.

My mother was 101 years old and had pneumonia. She was too weak to survive. However, the treatment she received from the ambulance crew, the accident and emergency department, the in-between wards until they found her a bed, and in Bristol Ward, was fantastic.

The staff were so caring, I could have sworn I was in a private hospital. My daughter Amanda and I would like to express our gratitude for all the loving care my mum received.
