REVEREND Richard Coles is to feature in a TV series ahead of the release of his new book.

Rev Coles, who recently moved to Friston near Eastbourne, will be taking part in the Sky Arts Book Club.

He has just published his first crime novel, Murder Before Evensong.

The TV shows, hosted by Andi Oliver and Elisabeth Day, will involve Rev Coles and other guests discussing weekly themes, as well as taking questions from guests.

Andi Oliver said: “This season is joyful, thought provoking and completely compelling and I can’t wait to share it with everyone.

“Books showed me that there are many many ways to navigate the world and that we can choose our path. I am eternally grateful.”

Rev Coles, once a member of Eighties' band The Communards, has become a regular on television in recent years. He is also now a Radio 4 presenter.

Other guests on the Sky series include acclaimed author Jeanette Winterson, known for books such as Why Be Happy When You Can Be Normal? and Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit.

Sky Arts Book Club began on Wednesday and will be available to stream.
