House prices in Mid Sussex have gone down by an average of over £5,000 in the month of June, according to figures from the Land Registry.

The latest data from the government department reveals that in June 2022 average house prices in Mid Sussex reached £448,359.

This was down from £454,332 in May, representing a 1.3 per cent decrease. In the last 12 months it has risen by 14.7 per cent.

Breaking it down for specific types of housing, all prices saw a decrease.

  • Detached houses - Down to £754,990 from £768,800 in May
  • Semi-detached houses - Down to £478,949 from £484,902 in May
  • Terraced houses - Down to £374,651 from £377,607 in May
  • Flats - Down to £232,721 from £235,354 in May

How do Mid Sussex house prices compare to the UK average?

Despite the fall in prices this month, Mid Sussex is still far above the UK average with a typical property value in the nations reaching £286,397 in June.

In cash terms, the average house price in June was £20,721 higher than a year earlier with house price growth accelerating to 7.8 per cent in June 2022.  Prices were up by 1.0 per cent month on month.
