A FOOD festival is set to bring a range of cuisines and entertainment to West Sussex.

The Great British Food Festival will combine food and drink with the sunshine as the event comes to Borde Hill near Haywards Heath in September.

The event will bring different chocolates and cheeses to the public as well as two Man v Food challenges, where contestants will eat sausages and chilli.

Nick Maycock, who helps to organise the festival, said: “We can't wait to see the people of Sussex and surrounding towns come out and have a good time with us.

“There’s a lot of interest in the event, and we are really looking forward to a fantastic foodie weekend.”

The event will also include cookery lessons alongside family-friendly activities such as circus skills and a mini zoo.

Other activities at the show include foraging lessons, where groups can look for edible plants in Borde Hill’s Parkland, and the Great British Cake Off, where amateur bakers can compete to be crowned the best baker at the festival.

The Great British Food Festival will take place at Borde Hill Garden on Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18 from 10am to 5pm.
