I just had to write to you after reading your story about the rottweiler, Roxy, that died from its horrific injuries.

How can Andrew Davis say he loved his dog and still do that to her?

I couldn't believe it when I read it.

I upset me even more when I read that Davis got five months. He should have got five years.

C Meeter Gordon Road Brighton IT WAS with shock and horror that I read about the death of the rottweiler that was killed by its owner.

From reading the story it is clear that there was a good reason for the dog to be put down but why didn't its owner take it to a vet?

There was no reason for this dog to die in such a violent and unnecessarily painful way.

With regard to it biting a child, I do not believe that any well-trained dog would bite a child. It is high time that owners of dangerous dogs were examined for their ability to train and control their animals.
