It is reassuring to see that, despite a change in leadership, our noble council is still sticking firmly to its principles.

If you are a small business without vast quantities of money, the café you've constructed "without permission for mixed use" will be closed immediately (The Argus, March 3).

However, if you're rich or powerful you can get away with cutting down irreplaceable trees opposite Preston Park and, while the council will perform its practised public act of wringing its hands and whining, don't worry, they will do nothing.
