BRIGHTON Dome is to open its doors to celebrate the inventors and technologies that have transformed the venue.
As part of the Dome’s Heritage Open Day, visitors will be able to explore the listed building’s history through the theme of Astounding Inventions.
The day will include a range of family-friendly activities such as theatre workshops, performances and talks from local artists.
Visitors will also be able to take part in backstage tours of the Dome’s Concert Hall which has hosted stars such as Beyonce and David Bowie.
Brighton Dome, which is more than 200 years old, hosts annual Heritage Open Days as a way of allowing the public to learn about its history.
The open days happen at venues across the country, in collaboration with the National Trust and the People’s Postcode Lottery.
This year at the Dome, students from Brighton’s WaterBear College of Music in Queen's Road will be performing songs from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Abba and Ella Fitzgerald.
Brighton Dome’s Heritage Open Day is on Sunday from 10am to 5pm. All sessions are free, but people shouldd book activities and tours in advance.
