CYCLISTS and rail passengers have been warned of busy services this weekend due to the London to Brighton bike ride.
Govia Thameslink Railway, which operates Southern and Thameslink services, have said that services to and from Brighton on Sunday, September 11, are expected to be “busier than usual” due to the annual event.
The rail operator encouraged people travelling on Sunday to “be prepared to queue” if you are travelling with a bike.
Cyclists will set off from Clapham Common in London for the 54-mile journey, travelling through Haywards Heath and Ditchling Beacon, before reaching the finish line in Madeira Drive on Brighton seafront.
The annual event, now in its 12th year, is expected to have thousands of participants to help raise much-needed funds for a range of charities - including Great Ormond Street Hospital, Macmillan Cancer Support, and the Alzheimer's Society.
