MOTORISTS have been brought to a halt in a town centre after a lorry collision brought scaffolding tumbling into the path of oncoming traffic.

Metal scaffolding and tiles were scattered across High Street in Storrington, blocking the A283 in both directions.

Police and fire crews are at the scene of the collision and have been seen clearing the road for drivers.

Delays caused by the incident have stretched into neighbouring villages, including Heath Common and Washington, as well as along the A24.

Sussex Police confirmed that no injuries have been reported in the incident.
