KATIE Price has revealed she was raped during a terrifying carjacking in South Africa.

The former glamour model, 44, was travelling from Johannesburg to Swaziland with her children and a film crew when she was held at gunpoint and brutally attacked.

The sexual assault in 2018 left Katie “suicidal”, she told journalists ahead of her new television show, Katie Price: Trauma and Me.

“When I was filming with ITV in South Africa, we had no security, if we had security they would have been able to deal with the six guys that jumped us, held me at gunpoint and raped me,” she said.

Brighton-born Katie checked into The Priory, a mental health hospital, following the late-night attack.

She told the Mail Online: “I hit severe depression a couple of years ago, depression on top of PTSD, I was suicidal, didn’t want to be here. I tried to kill myself.

“I knocked myself out and had black eyes. I had bruises around my neck. I woke up. I didn’t want to be here.”

The mother-of-five said the ordeal was the catalyst for her mental health struggles.

“I have therapy every other week and I wish I did this years ago because it would have stopped a lot of things that I might have said and reacted to because I felt I had to protect myself,” she told the press.

Katie has been married three times, and is currently engaged to fiancée Carl Woods.

The pair were seen just three days ago following rumours they had split.

Carl previously denied the split via social media, saying he is “the best f****** fella she’s ever had.

“Look, here she is. I'm still at the f**king house,” he said.

Rumours of the split began after Katie spoke of their parting via TikTok – before quickly deleting the post and claiming she was hacked.

“I want to confirm I'm still with my fiancé, Carl Woods,” she later said.

Katie Price: Trauma and Me airs on Channel 4, this Thursday at 9pm.
