HUNDREDS of homes have already been snapped up by buyers months before the completion of the development.

Every new home at Vistry Group’s Burfield Grange location in Hailsham has been sold.

The housebuilder is delivering 240 homes at the development off Park Road, comprising 156 properties for private sale and 84 affordable homes available for local people through rent or shared ownership.

Construction began on the 39-acre site in 2016 and is due to be completed in November.

Millie Groves, marketing manager for Vistry Kent, said the development had brought more than £2 million worth of investment into the area as part of the development’s planning agreement.

“Burfield Grange has been a huge success, delivering a range of high-quality homes for sale which meet the needs of buyers in the area,” she said.

“We’ve also provided a mix of affordable housing to help local people find a home in the area.

“With all the homes now sold here, we are looking forwarding to completing construction on site and welcoming the final buyers into this new community.

“The development has also brought financial contributions totalling more than £2.4 million into the area as part of the planning agreement for the new homes, enabling improvements to schools, roads, public transport and community facilities.”

According to Vistry, its contributions to the community, in line with planning agreements, include more than £1.7 million for education including early years provision, primary and secondary schools and sixth form places.

Further funding includes £310,000 for highway works as part of the Movement and Access Strategy for Hailsham and Hellingly (MASHH), £240,000 towards bus services, and a community hall contribution of £105,120, as well as £56,640 for libraries and £30,000 for Hellingly traffic calming.

With all homes sold at Burfield Grange, Vistry is soon to begin work on a new 300-home development, Liberty Place, off Marshfoot Lane on the edge of Hailsham.

“Our commitment to the area is ongoing, with work nearing completion at Burfield Grange and new homes coming soon at Liberty Place, which will give further opportunities for people to find a home to suit their needs in Hailsham,” said Ms Groves.
