King Charles III is proclaimed as the new sovereign across Sussex today after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

He was confirmed as King nationally at the Accession Council on Saturday.

And the public are now invited to join proclamations in their area.

  • Chichester: County Hall at 1pm
  • Crawley: Outside the Town Hall at 2pm
  • Haywards Heath: Mid Sussex Council offices in Oaklands Road at 2pm
  • Bexhill: Town hall at 2.30pm
  • Worthing: Town Hall at 2.30pm Hastings: Queen’s Square at 3pm
  • Horsham: The Carfax at 3pm
  • Brighton and Hove: North Balcony of Royal Pavilion at 3pm
  • Shoreham: Shoreham Centre at 3.30pm
  • Eastbourne: The steps of Eastbourne Town Hall at 4pm
  • Hailsham: War Memorial on the High Street at 4pm
  • Uckfield: By the flagpole outside the Civic Centre at 5.30pm

The Queen’s body left Balmoral this morning, making its journey to Dundee for 2pm and then on to Edinburgh for 4pm.
