HUNDREDS of motorist were raging this morning as roadworks caused huge disruption to the Monday morning commute.

Cars were bumper to bumper along Dyke Road, Brighton, from the Seven Dials roundabout up to Woodruff Avenue.

The AA reported “severe delays” from as early as 6.34am today due to traffic signal failure.

Roadworks in the area are expected to last until September 15.

Onlookers watched from businesses in the area as car horns were blaring out while frustrated drivers waited at temporary traffic lights.

Queues were seen between Upper Drive and Dyke road.
