THE organisers of a seafood and wine festival have announced it will be taking place this weekend.

The event in Hastings will go ahead on the Stade open space in Hastings Old Town after “careful consideration”.

A spokesman for the event said a minute’s silence will take place to mark the death of the Queen at the beginning of each day.

Throughout the festival a book of condolence will be available to sign as well.

The spokesman said: “After very careful consideration it has been decided that this weekend’s Hastings Seafood and Wine Festival will go ahead on the Stade open space in Hastings Old Town.

“One minute’s silence to mark the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II will be held before the start of each day’s music performance and cookery demonstrations, and a condolence book will be available to sign throughout the festival.”
