COUNCILS and businesses around Sussex are marking the Queen’s funeral on Monday with services and closures.
Aldi, Lidl, Greggs, Sainsbury's and Tesco are among the shops closing for the day and branches of McDonald’s will be shut until 5pm.
In Brighton, Cineworld, The Duke of York’s and Odeon cinemas will be closed throughout the day.
The i360 observation tower on Brighton seafront will also be closed, as will the Royal Pavilion.
From 11am public screenings of the funeral service will be taking place and several councils have planned commemorations of Her Majesty’s life.
Brighton's Palace Pier will be open on Monday and will be showing the funeral service live on the big screen at Horatio’s bar.
Brighton City Council said no plans have been made to mark the day.
In Hastings, the service will be shown on a big screen in Alexandra Park on the top lawn.
Hastings Borough Council is organising the event, in partnership with Love Hastings, the Business Improvement District.
The screen will be turned on at 10am, an hour before the start of the funeral, and turned off at the end of the service.
A condolence book will be available if anyone wishes to sign on the day.
Additionally, on Sunday there will be a national minute of silence for reflection outside Hastings Town Hall. The Mayor of Hastings James Bacon and deputy mayor Margi O’Callaghan will be attending.
