Brighton Marina's annual transformation into an open-air carnival of street art and pyrotechnics takes a Celtic theme this year, with the help of Festival Of Fools, Belfast's International Street Festival.

Set up five years ago, the Festival Of Fools has established a reputation for showcasing the funniest of international street theatre from Europe, the USA and India and premieres and exclusives from this will abound at The Big Splash.

Brighton-based Flaming Fun will again set sparks flying with the world premiere of their astounding show Night Of The Dragon, a pyro-musical extravaganza of acrobatics and daredevil stunts.

Music comes courtesy of Carnival Collective, a dynamic group of Brighton-based musicians, dancers and artists who combine break-beat percussion, reggae, funk, house and other dance influences with a horn section, funky dancers, guitars, bass, electronics and some innovative vocalists.

The evening reaches a crescendo with a panoramic firework display from pyrotechnicians Alchemy Fireworks.

Alchemy searches the globe for exciting new effects and show collaborators.

Senior display designer Glenn Plume says: "We always like performing to big crowds and we're sure that the Marina and the local vantage points are going to be packed out with people enjoying the show. We've got some great brand new effects that haven't been seen before in the UK, and the whole effect is going to be bigger, better and more exciting than last year."
