ARMED police attended an incident in a residential road this afternoon.
Both firearms and unarmed officers attended the scene in Milfoil Drive, Eastbourne.
Police first arrived at around 1.40pm this afternoon.
Multiple vehicles were also spotted, as well as police dogs.
The road was closed while officers attended the incident but has since reopened.
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: "Shortly before 12.30pm on Saturday, September 17, police received a third-party report of a disturbance in Milfoil Drive, Eastbourne.
"Armed and unarmed officers attended to try and locate the people involved and establish the full circumstances.
"One man has since been identified and is assisting police with their enquiries.
"The road was closed as a precaution while the matter was ongoing and the public are thanked for their patience and understanding during this time."
