A THREE-mile queue has built up along the A27 as roadworks cause congestion and delays for motorists.

Restrictions are in place due to construction at the Polegate Bypass both ways between the A22 Polegate Road (Cop Hall Roundabout) and A2270 (Eastbourne turn-off).

A variety of cones, lane closures and temporary traffic lights are in place, causing traffic to stretch as far back as Drusillas Park near Alfriston.

Motorists are also facing delays along other parts of the A27 this morning, including around Grove Lodge Roundabout in Worthing, Lancing Roundabout, and on Chichester Road around and past Arundel.
