MOTORISTS are facing delays along the A27 near the site of a crash that killed a motorcyclist.

Congestion has formed eastbound between the A27 near Lewes and Southerham Lane, causing delays of around six minutes for drivers.

The traffic is building up near a section of the road that was closed for several hours yesterday following a crash involving a lorry and a motorcycle between the Beddingham and Southerham roundabouts.

The 35-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene of the collision and his next of kin have been informed.

A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving and released under investigation, pending further enquiries.

Officers are investigating the collision and have appealed to motorists or witnesses who may have seen what happened.
