EMERGENCY services are at the scene following a reported explosion.
It comes after a number of houses are thought to have lost power in the BN2 5 postcode area.
UK Power Network suggest that the outage could affect around 800 residents.
Pictures from the scene show a number of fire engines in Whitehawk Crescent.
A cordon has also been put in place in the area.
Local residents are reporting that they heard an "explosion" in the area where the power cut has occured.
One said: "I was outside and neighbours heard it from inside their houses and came out."
