FOUR fire engines attended a fire that broke out at a city centre pub.

Crews were called to the Heart and Hand pub in North Road, Brighton last night at around 9.30pm.

A fire broke out in the cellar of the pub.

An East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “Crews from four fire appliances were called at 9.32pm and are using breathing apparatus to deal with a fire in the cellar of the Heart and Hand pub, North Road, Brighton. 

“Please avoid the area and residents should keep doors and windows closed.”
