POLICE are appealing for information after a three-month old baby was hit by a “large clump of moss and dirt” from a high street roof.
Three boys aged between ten and 14 were seen running from the area after a report was received that three youths climbed to a roof up scaffolding and then threw moss on to the street.
The incident happened about 6.30pm on Monday in West Street, Horsham.
The baby did not suffer any serious injuries.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “A report was received stating that three youths were seen to reach the roof by climbing scaffolding and then throwing moss down to the public walking below.
“Following the incident, three boys were seen running from the area on foot, in the direction of Swan Walk.
“The first suspect is described as a ten to 12-year-old boy, with blond hair, wearing a grey tracksuit.
“The second suspect is described as a 14-year-old boy, with short back and sides hair.
“Lastly, the third suspect is described as a boy aged between ten and 14 with short hair, wearing a black sports shirt and long black trousers.
“Anyone who was in the area at the time, and has any relevant information to the investigation, can report online or call 101, quoting serial 1097 of 19/09.”
