POLICE have confirmed that a body found in a woodland was that of a 38-year-old man.
Emergency services attended the woodland in Hampden Park, near Eastbourne, this morning shortly after 9am.
A report was made due to “concerns for a man’s welfare”.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “A 38-year-old local man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“His next of kin have been informed.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the situation, but it is not believed to be suspicious.”
Police cars could be seen in Hampden Park Drive this morning.
