A man indecently exposed himself to three schoolgirls in the second incident outside the same school in a week.

The latest incident happened on Monday at about 12.44pm near Westergate Community School in Lime Avenue, Westergate, near Bognor.

The three girls are all aged 13.

The flasher is described as white, aged between 50 and 70 and wearing a beige top and beige trousers.

The girls gave brief statements and will give full accounts of what happened with their parents present.

On Monday last week a flasher, believed to be the same man, indecently exposed himself to girls outside the school.

In a similar incident last week, which police believe may also have been committed by the same man due to similarities in time and location, a man indecently exposed himself to schoolgirls in Centurion Way, Chichester, near Bishop Luffa school.

Two other separate incidents happened in Upper Shoreham Road, near Buckingham Park, Shoreham, in April.

A man exposed himself to two teenage girls on separate occasions.

One incident happened on April 29 and the other on May 6 at about 3.30pm.

That man is described as Asian, between 5ft 3in and 5ft 8in and thin with short black hair and wearing a baggy, black hooded jumper, black tracksuit bottoms, black trainers and a black baseball cap.

Inspector Andy Parr, one of the officers investigating the incidents in Westergate, praised the girls for the mature way they had reacted to the incident and had told staff what had happened. He said: "We are looking for information from anyone who has seen a man hanging around outside or near schools and looking suspicious.

"There was no physical contact. This was a flashing incident.

"We want people to call us sooner rather than later if an incident such as this occurs because time is of the essence with police investigations, as we are keen to find eyewitnesses.

"We treat indecent exposure as a serious incident and will act on it as a priority."

Anyone with information on the two incidents at Westergate should call Sussex Police on 0845 6070999, quoting serial 760 of May 12.
