Given their established clubnights in musical hotbeds as unlikely as Southport and Luton, it's slightly surprising that the NME has taken so long to kickstart a regular shindig in Brighton.
The indie oracle has always had a local presence through tours visiting major venues locally (including a three-night residency at the Barfly for The Great Escape), but now The Brighton Coalition has taken things one step further and given Club NME a weekly slot in the city.
The dancefloor franchise started at Nottingham's Stealth in 2004, moving on to London's Koko, where the Kaiser Chiefs ensured a sell-out opening night.
Since then it has launched in dozens of venues across the UK, branching out to Los Angeles and New York over the past 18 months.
London electro-punks The Ghost Frequency play this time around, ably supported by Panic At The Disco impressionists This City.
"It should be a glamorous indie night," explained NME editor Conor McNicholas as Club NME rose to prominence in 2006. "We didn't want to do just another sticky floor club night."
