UNION leaders will be addressing activists and protesters in the city tomorrow as part of a campaign calling for action on the cost of living.

Mick Lynch from the RMT, Dave Ward from the CWU and Jo Grady from the UCU will be joined by Labour MP for Coventry South Zarah Sultana at a rally in Brighton for the Enough is Enough campaign.

The campaign, founded by trade union and community organisations, calls for a real-term pay rise, the slashing of energy bills and an end to food poverty.

The rally comes days after hundreds of protesters marched through the streets of the city to demand more government support on the cost of living.

Some 100,000 people took part in protests across 50 cities as part of a “day of action” by the group.

A spokesman for Enough is Enough said: “This crisis wasn’t caused by us, so we’re not going to pay for it.

“People in this country are sick of handouts for the rich and hardship for the rest.”
