DRAG Race UK contestant Pixie Polite has opened up about struggling after a relationship with another drag queen came to an end.

Pixie, from Brighton, revealed the five-year relationship with Tia Kofi, who starred in the second series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and featured in the line-up for this year’s Brighton Pride.

However, Pixie admitted on the most recent episode of the show: “Because of mistakes that I made, we are no longer together.

“There’s a lot I’ve still not processed from it. We went from living together, working together, having the same friends - to go from that to being apart was really difficult.

“I’ve had some really dark times this year.”

Pixie was comforted by fellow contestant Danny Beard - the first Drag Race queen to appear on the show with facial hair, after they were paired up for this week’s challenge.

“Me and Tia are still very close and it’s hard being here knowing after all that we’ve been through she is at home really being my biggest cheerleader,” Pixie said.

“I feel a lot of pressure on myself to make her proud.”

Both Pixie Polite and fellow Sussex queen Dakota Schiffer survived another week on the show, as the remaining ten contestants had their sewing skills put to the test.

The drag queens were paired up to create high-fashion looks for a “night down the bingo”, with Horsham drag queen Dakota Schiffer paired with fellow contestant Baby.

The contestants were each assigned different coloured boxes of new and vintage fabrics to create complementary looks, with Pixie given a box of purple items to use for the challenge and Dakota given the colour black to work with.

Pixie also gave some emotional support to Danny as the pair got their make-up ready for the runway after Danny confessed to missing partner of ten years Joe.

“He’s honestly my rock. I couldn’t do this job without him,” Danny said.

This week’s episode saw Cheltenham drag queen Copper Topp eliminated from the competition after losing a lip sync to Black Peppa to the song “This Is Real” by Jax Jones and Ella Henderson, who was among the acts to headline Brighton Pride this summer.
