A drive-through Costa Coffee shop is being proposed for a retail park near the A27.

Plans have been submitted for the new branch at Downlands Retail Park at Lyons Farm, Worthing.

It would be a south of the car park at the retail park, which houses a B&Q store as well as Currys and Benson for Beds.

Under the plans, spaces from the car park would be taken up by the Costa which, if it goes ahead, is expected to create around 15 jobs.

Landscaping work would be undertaken to replace current planting areas at the site and to "enhance the appearance" of the site.

About ten trees would be cut down to accommodate the building, although the plans have committed to planting some larger native trees.

Neither Highways England nor West Sussex County Council has raised objections to the plans.

Worthing Borough Council planning committee will discuss the plans on Wednesday.
