A pensioner has been taken to hospital after her car overturned in a crash.

Police, fire crews and the ambulance service were called to the scene of the collision in Cooden Drive in Bexhill yesterday evening.

Two people in high-vis jackets were seen speaking to a person near the vehicle, while a small crowd looked on near the crash.

Officers were also seen inspecting the overturned vehicle, which was missing its passenger door.

A police spokesman confirmed that the driver of the vehicle, a woman in her 70s, was taken to hospital after the incident.

He said: “Emergency services were called to an overturned car in Cooden Drive, Bexhill, at 5.30pm on Thursday, October 20.

“The driver and sole occupant of the car, a woman in her 70s, was taken to hospital by the ambulance service for treatment for minor injuries.”
