A convicted drug dealer who sold drugs to a woman has denied having anything to do with her death.

Jack Tyler was giving evidence at Hove Crown Court where Mark Brown is on trial accused of murdering Leah Ware, 33, and Alexandra Morgan, 34.

The court heard Tyler, a convicted drug dealer, sold crack cocaine and heroin to Leah and also considered her to be a friend.

He saw her for the last time on May 6, 2021, one day before the prosecution argues she was killed.

The pair smoked crack together, Leah bought drugs from him and they had sex for what he claimed was the first and last time.

Leah also briefly took him to Little Bridge Farm near Hastings, where she lived in a shipping container, so she could retrieve her bank card. However, he did not get out of the car.

Ian Henderson KC, for the defence, asked Tyler whether had also seen Leah in the early hours of May 7, the day she was alleged to have been killed.

He said he was drunk at the time and could not remember if he saw her or not.

Duncan Atkinson KC, prosecuting, in cross-examination, said it was “being implied”  Tyler may have had something to do with Leah’s death.

In response to Mr Atkinson’s questioning, Tyler said: “I did not have a falling out with Leah. I did not take Leah away somewhere in her car.

“I did not hurt her, I did not have an argument with her, and I did not kill her.”

Brown, 41, of Squirrel Close, St Leonards, has pleaded not guilty to murdering both women.

The trial continues.
