Hamlet had the play within a play, these are the festivals within a festival.
The third Sompting fair will feature a funfair, a miniature steam railway and an exhibition of Sompting's history, as well as a marching band, morris dancers and a steel band, with lots of beer to wash it all down.
The following weekend's BeachDreams Festival begins with noon parades from Shoreham Beach School and the Church Of Good Shepherd which will meet at the green at 12.30pm at the Klug BeachDreams Marquee. The Marquee will be hosting a free programme of live music and family entertainment all day, ending with a ticketed performance by 1980's rockers Cutting Crew at 8pm.
- Sompting: Starts 10am, free.
- BeachDreams: Starts noon, free, ticketed finale, £15.
