Firearms officers were called to a car crash to put down a critically injured deer.
The crash happened on Monday at around 12 noon on the A272 Cowfold Road between Wineham Lane and Bolney Chapel Road, near the A23.
The road was closed following the crash.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “A firearms team was called to the A272, west of Ansty, to humanely dispatch a deer that had been critically injured after a collision with a car around 12 noon on Monday, October 24.”
