A coffee shop where you can get your hair cut has opened its doors as the first tenant in a new retail space.

Coffee business Slowpoke has teamed up with Brighton-based barbers Teddy Edwards to create a new store in which customers can enjoy barista-made drinks while waiting for their hair to be trimmed.

The new store, which recently opened on Friday, October 14, is the first anchor tenant at the Foundry retail space in Ashford Road in Eastbourne.

Howard Kaye, who set up the venture, said: “We will be getting to know our new neighbours and enticing them in for a relaxed coffee and a haircut.

“It’s great to be the first anchor store for Foundry and I know it is going to be a fantastic success.”

Slowpoke and Teddy Edwards also hosts a mental health morning every Monday where customers are encouraged to chat about their feelings.

Adam Walker, co-founder of Foundry, said: “There is much greater awareness today about the stresses and strains that we are under.

"I am passionate about being able to offer mental health support here at Foundry and I am delighted to be partnering up with Digital First/Victoria Medical Centre, who have taken our largest first-floor unit.”
