RNLI volunteers were called out after a fishing boat began taking on water off the coast of Sussex.

Crews from Shoreham Lifeboat were called to the 15-metre vessel roughly ten miles south-east of the town following a Mayday distress signal yesterday afternoon.

The station’s all-weather lifeboat attended the scene and stood by until the crew managed to rectify the issue.

The vessel, which had three people on board, was then able to continue on its way.
