A large tree branch has come down in one of the city's parks.

The branch came down overnight in Preston Park, Brighton.

One bystander said "it would have been very dangerous if it had fallen the other way".

The tree is right next to Preston Road.

It comes as Storm Claudio hit the county overnight, with wind gusts of up to 68mph recorded.

The Met Office had a yellow weather warning in place from midnight until 8am this morning.

It is unclear when the tree branch will be cleared.

A council spokesman said: "It came down in the strong winds last night.

"One of our crews is heading over there today to clear up."
