Watch the moment this road floods.
Residents in Goldstone Close in Hove were "up to their shoulders" trying to clear the drains to reduce the flooding.
"One resident was in tears," said Sara Crowe, of Goldstone Close. "The water was so fast it was like a river. I have never seen it this bad."
Water was flowing into garages and one household lost their electricity due to the flooding.
The fire brigade attended the scene at 11am today. They helped pump out the garage and get storm drains working.
Ms Crowe said: "Three houses very nearly flooded today."
