A sailor and his two passengers are having to spend the night on the beach after their boat developed engine trouble.
Lifeboats tried to pull the motor cruiser without success from the beach near the King Alfred Leisure Cenrte in Hove after it was beached at 8.30pm tonight.
A spokeswoman for the Coastguard said: "Thankfully nobody was hurt, although they'll probably need a commercial tow in the morning."
