A yellow weather warning has been issued as thunderstorms are expected across Sussex this evening.

The warning from the Met Office is the third to hit the area in recent days and covers the whole of Sussex.

Residents can expect thunder and lightning as well as “some flooding” of homes and the potential loss of power.

Stormy weather can be expected between 8pm on Thursday, November 3, and 6am on Friday, November 4.

A number of yellow weather warnings have been in place after the South coast was battered by Storm Claudio earlier in the week.

The most recent warning comes after a yellow weather warning for wind was issued on Tuesday, November 1.

A similar warning for rain was in place on Thursday, November 3.

A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms can mean that damage to buildings as a result of lightning strikes is possible.

Train services and other public transport services may also be delayed.
