A section of the A27 was following an incident at a roundabout.
The incident, which took place near the Fishbourne roundabout in Chichester, left traffic stationary.
It thought to have occurred shortly after 10am on Saturday, November 5, but the road has since been re-opened.
The road was shut both ways between the A259 west in Emsworth and A259 east in Fishbourne near the roundabout. Traffic congestion built up to the A259 Main road as cars divert from the area.
