Brighton's Bake Off star just missed out on a spot in the final.

Janusz Domagala became the ninth contestant to be voted off the show, missing a spot in the final which airs next week.

He took to Twitter to share a heartfelt message about his time in the tent.

"I DID IT!" he said. "Being chubby, gay and the first Polish contestant on GBBO I knew I had a lot to represent walking into the tent.

"Thank you so much for taking me in and embracing me and for the love, support and fun over the last nine weeks."

Fans were gutted, with many saying he was "robbed".

It was a closely-fought episode where the bakers took on patisserie, a notoriously challenging week.

In the signature, Janusz competed against Sandro, Abdul and Syabira to make six mini charlottes.

The 34-year-old came third in the technical making vertical tarts, but it was his showstopper that was not enough to fend off the competition.

The amateur bakers were taked with making a Swedish-inspired biscuit sculpture.

Despite giving it his best shot with his interpretation of Brighton Pride with a towering sculpture of rainbows and hearts made of biscuits, he was unable to convince Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith that he deserved a spot in next week's final.

This week's star baker was Abdul.
