A man was taken to hospital with injuries including a fractured eye socket after an unprovoked attack in broad daylight in a town centre.
The 24-year-old man was approached by an unknown man at the junction of Robertson Street and Cambridge Road in Hastings when he was assaulted.
After reporting the attack to police, he was taken to hospital where it was confirmed he sustained injuries including a fractured eye socket.
Police are urging any witnesses of the attack, which took place between 12.30pm and 2pm on November 3, to come forward.
Officers specifically want to hear from an elderly woman who may have seen what happened.
