An incident has taken place at Chichester Cross.
People in hazmat suits were spotted cleaning the cross and it was cordoned off to the public.
Blood was seen on the floor.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "This was a medical incident and there were no suspicious circumstances."
Two people in masks were seen cleaning the cross which was cordoned off with tape and cones.
