I was interested to read about the Old Market in Adam Trimingham's article (The Argus, May 17).
I was particularly pleased to find mention of the Dupont riding school.
Alfred Dupont's name still lives on in the Dupont Art Club, started in 1979 by a group of enthusiasts during the life of the Old Market Arts Centre.
The originators of the club were searching for a name, and from the studio window they saw the name Dupont in the old sign on the wall of the old stables.
The club was recently renamed Dupont Art Club at Hove. Our annual exhibition takes place at the Connaught Centre in August. Visit www.dupontartclub.org.uk.
