A man seen “driving suspiciously” has been arrested after being found with drug dealing equipment and a large amount of cash.
Officers saw the car in Western Road, Brighton, last night around 10pm.
Large amounts of cash and items associated with drug dealing were found in the car and the 20-year-old was arrested.
Three police cars were at the scene near Taj supermarket at around 10.40pm.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “A search of the vehicle uncovered a significant amount of cash and items associated with drug dealing, as well as evidence that the driver was driving without a licence or insurance.
“A 20-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, money laundering, driving with no insurance and driving without a licence.
“He remains in custody at this time.”
One bystander said: “It was quite dramatic with lots of police jumping out at the same time.”
