A man has been charged in connection with a knifepoint robbery at a shop.

Officers responded to reports of a man storming into the Co-op in Ifield Drive, Crawley, terrorising workers before fleeing with two bottles of alcohol at around 8.20pm on Sunday evening.

Craig Baker, 43, of no fixed address, appeared before Crawley Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in public.

He has since been remanded in custody to appear before Lewes Crown Court on December 14 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
