The owner of an award-winning wizarding store has announced its closure.

Oliver’s Brighton, run by Oliver Dall, will close “in the next couple of months” after five years in the city.

Oliver said it is the “end of a chapter” but that he is “ready” for something new.

“I am not closing it because I am giving up, but I have launched a new business which I now want to devote all my time to,” he said.

In the past, Oliver has considered selling the store, but decided against it.

Now it is closing for good, with the store set to be converted into office space for his new business venture, Wizard’s Gold.

Wizard’s Gold is a vanilla flavoured spirit, served in a bottle shaped like a warlock’s head. It contains small flecks of 23k gold.

“I have realised that this new spirit brand is going crazy.

“I had to ask myself, 'can I realistically do both?'” said Oliver.

“I would prefer to part from the five years of Oliver’s happy than leave because I was not being given 100 per cent to it.”

Oliver launched Wizard’s Gold this year after he was granted an alcohol licence.

Now, Oliver hopes the gold-infused spirit will become a household name.

Oliver said there is no fixed date for the closure, but that he we close when his remaining stock runs out.

He expects this will be by the end of December or early January 2023.
