The A27 has reopened following a serious collision and car fire.
The road was closed between the A284 / Lyminster (Crossbush Junction) and the A280 (Angmering / Clapham junction) due to investigation work into the incident which happened at around 1.30am in Hammerpot.
Sussex Police said the A27 has now reopened.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to investigate this serious incident."
A Sussex Police spokesman said earlier this morning: “Please be aware the A27 is closed in both directions because of a police investigation following a collision in Hammerpot.
“At this stage it is unclear when the road will reopen and we would advise drivers to allow extra time for their journey and to take alternative routes.”
